Revised cook calendar available

A new 2007 Cook Calendar is available by clicking here or the link in the LINKS section at right.

Some great cooks have been added to the list, but we still have plenty of space for more! Please contact Bill at colts.cooks@comcast.net to reserve your spot on tour.

We really need everyone's help this year to cover a challenging tour schedule. Please sign up, even if you can only help for a day of two. Every helping hand counts when you're feeding the Colts!

Thanks.

Ibe in the news

Here's a picture of Ibe Sodawalla at Band Fest in Pasadena, Calif., -- part of the Tournament of Roses celebration -- with a band from Wisconsin. Ibe was the arranger for the band's field show. Ibe got a nice mention in the Green Bay Press-Gazette coverage of the band's trip.

The photo is from the Press-Gazette. Here's the original caption from the newspaper's slideshow of the band trip: Band director Tom Busch and music arranger Ibe Sodawalla watch as the band practices in preparation for Band Fest and the Rose Bowl Parade. Photo by Jennifer Koss, Pulaski High School teacher/yearbook adviser

Go Ibe!

(Thanks to Chris Tanner for pointing out the article and photo and suggesting we link to it from the cooktruck. If you know of someone in the Colts family [even you] who has been featured in the news, please point it out to us and we'll link to the story if it's possible.)

Camp is on

Hi,
Camp is on (see the notice from colts.org below), and we made it to Dubuque. (Thanks to the Super 8 for the internet access....) See the note from the Colts staff on what to do if the weather changes your travel plans at the last minute.
See you at Washington Middle School.
David

Camp Is On As Scheduled
January 12, 2007
Colts Staff
This weekend's audition camp to be held at Washington Middle School in Dubuque will continue as scheduled. Some areas of the country south and west of Dubuque are facing a winter storm that is making travel difficult. However, many camp attendees are not as affected by the storm so we plan to proceed for those who can make it to Dubuque.

If you are traveling in an area where travel is difficult, and you do not feel safe traveling, please make the safest decision for you and your traveling party. If you were sceduled to be at camp and will not be attending for any reason, you must call the office with your change of plans to maintain your status in the 2007 Colts.

Jeff MacFarlane will be organizing the check in of camp attendees. If you were planning to DRIVE to Dubuque, and you will not be able to make it, call Jeff on his cell phone: 563.599.8553. If you are traveling to Dubuque by AIR, and your flight times change, call Vicki on her cell phone: 563.564.9016 once you have a confirmed arrival time at your destination airport.

Travel safe! We look forward to seeing many of you in Dubuque tonight.

Camp today!

Volunteers should make sure they read colts.org to see the range of projects on the agenda for the weekend. Sounds like some major shifting going on at the Colts Center. And there'll be lots of kids to cook for and sewing to be done.

Also, Vicki says to watch the weather carefully in your area and plan accordingly. Remember to communicate any last-minute changes in your weekend plans to colts@colts.org

See you this weekend. The Virtual Cooktruck Crew.

Camp is at Washington Middle School

The location for January camp has been posted at colts.org. It's Washington Middle School. (The easy to find one, not the hard to find one.)

Remember to check there not here before leaving for camp on Friday for last minute changes or instructions.

E-mail from England

Instead of a picture today, we bring you an e-mail from our favorite English age-out of last year:

Hey David, just wanted to say how awesome we look this year- of course I say 'we' in the loose sense as I am now classed as practically old aged!!! I forgot just how much I miss everyone until I saw all the camp pictures just now. Could you tell everyone just how much I miss them and that I love them all. Tell them to keep up the hard work as summer is over soon enough but totally worth the energy! I'm hoping to get out sometime in the summer to see the show. Well, i'll have to keep it short and sweet as I'm at work but please keep in touch.
Hope to see you soon,
Love Charlotte- the english chick x

Stuff

There's a link to the cook's calendar in the 'Links' area in the right sidebar. I'll try to keep the latest version linked to that so you get the most current one when you click on it. I'll try to say something when we've posted an updated calendar, but I know already that won't happen. Just know that you're getting the latest version if you click on the link.

And I posted a picture tonight. I'm going to try to be better about that this week, but with the way things have been going, who knows? I find it very odd that I've learned most of what I know about working with/on the internet and blogs from running the Virtual Cooktruck for three years, and now I'm doing more and more of that at my real job, which means I have less time to do this. Hmmmmmm.
