Day 19 - Brass 'n Brats

Uniformed Performance: Brass 'n Brats!

Belmont, Wisconsin

Tonight, both Colts and Colt Cadets will give a premiere performance of their 2014 productions at the annual Belmont Brass 'n Brats festival. Come enjoy live music, carnival rides, and of course some of the most delicious brats in the Midwest! Step-off for Colt Cadets will be at 8:00 pm, followed by the Colts at 8:20. Both corps will have a chance to eat together for dinner and snack this evening.

Rehearsal Day: Maquoketa, Iowa

Today will be our last rehearsal day in Maquoketa. The staff, students, and organization as a whole sends our deepest thanks and regard for those who made our stay here possible. Thanks Maquoketa for all of your hospitality!

Day 16 - CARWASH

Carwash Day!!!

The 220 members of the Colts and Colt Cadets will be practicing more than music on Saturday, June 7th, as they instead become experts at washing cars.
Twenty-one simultaneous locations will be staffed with members of both corps from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM for the annual Colts Car Wash fundraiser. Since inception of this program in 1985, over $300,000 has been raised for summer travel expenses of the Colts and Colt Cadets.

Day 15

Non-Uniformed Performance: Maquoketa, Iowa

Tonight is the night! At 8:30 PM the Colts will give their first, non-uniformed performance of their 2014 show, Dark Side of the Rainbow. This will take place at Maquoketa High School. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, bug spray, and applause! Make sure to stop by our souvenir truck before and after the show; they have some great merchandise this year! Remember, the show starts at 8:30, but feel free to come early to catch a glimpse of rehearsal as well!

Program coordinator and drill designer Marc Sylvester joined up with the corps last night to see how the show is progressing. He will be with us for the next few weeks.

Even with a little rain this morning, the corps has had a productive day thus far. The members received their last drill charts for the closer this morning and are finishing up their dot books! A majority of today will focus on advancing the visual program of the show.

After a great week at Loras College in Dubuque, the corps packed up and moved to Maquoketa High School last night. This is our fourth year at the high school, with special thanks to long-time Colt Cadets Brass Instructor Kent Crawford, for organizing and hosting us the last few years. We always look forward to our stay in Maquoketa.

There are still great seats available for DCI Finals week in Indianapolis! Parents, do everything you can to get there! www.dci.org has all the information you need to find seat!

Parents and friends! Don’t miss the final runs of the 2013 season! It may be Friday or on Saturday. This is great way to
share and understand this experience your student has had.
Regardless, and no matter what it takes, make every effort to join us on our last days of tour! It will be memory you will share for lifetime!

Season Wrap Up Events – The season wrap up and corps dismissal will be held at the end of our 
scheduled events and after equipment check in on Saturday in Indy. Tentative times would be at 
2:00 pm or at Midnight, pending our last performance timeline. Plan approximately two 
hours. All staff and members are expected to attend. Students will be dismissed from 
downtown Indy following the ceremony. Our tentative location is Military Park.
Trucks will depart early evening for the return to Dubuque, and buses will return to Dubuque at
the end of the Saturday evening DCI events, departing Indy between 12:30 am and 2:30 am.
