Colts 2010 Wrapping up.

Just wanted to post one more time with some Picture links and a huge thank you for all the awesome email and positive feedback. It has been one heck of a season. Since it was our first we were astounded by the pace of the corps. All those members, all that equipment, all the volunteers on and off tour. The staff and interns… The logistics are mind boggling!!! But it all went down pretty smooth as far as we know Smile .

I think this Colts thing can be summed up with on word  - PASSION. Overused and cliché’ I am certain but truly fitting when it comes to the Colts and this activity. Passion for excellence by the members and Staff, Passion for the Members by the parents and volunteers and passion for the activity by all. It is a wonderful opportunity for the kids and for having gone through this they are all better prepared and developed for the rest of what life has in store. Forever changed by the hard work, sense of pride, and teamwork over the season.

Parents and volunteers this activity is expensive! In financial terms (fees, equipment, travel etc)  in the case of parents and in terms of time and sacrifice for volunteers. The pride we feel for our son Jacob (and all the Members) is an awesome reward. Knowing how valuable this will be for their development into great young adults makes this a bargain at twice the price.

It was nice meeting as many of you guys as we did. Had a great time on the truck (virtual and physical Smile) Have a Great rest of the year!!!

Sincerely,

The Schroeders

Below are some pictures I found but please send me any links you want and I will amend this post to include them these are just the ones I found. I know there are more out there and I am happy to post.

Colts 2012 Day 60

We are in Atlanta, GA .  WeatherSun

Today is a rehearsal day.

Tomorrow – Atlanta, GA .

The Colts are in great spirits and confidence is high after the last couple shows. There is a visible change in their attitude.

The cook truck wanted me to relay a very cool story to everyone. Apparently at the last housing site in Milton FL while the Colts were rehearsing the high school football coach stopped practice and brought his team over to watch how the Colts were practicing. So impressed he was that he had his team watch them for over an hour.

Thanks to all the parents for the donations of Fruit and Gatorade. It is much needed this time in the season. We could always use more if you are in the Atlanta area please consider stopping by Otwell Middle School in Cummings GA

They Sleep Where?

We are going to be on the road tomorrow and the daily post will be late Sad smile I wanted to leave you with a little something that we took in Tiffin IA of the Gym the Colts were staying it. This is organized chaos if I have ever seen it. The funny thing is…. It works.

Colts 2010 Day 59

We are in Milton FL.  WeatherSun

Today is a show day.

Tomorrow – Atlanta, GA .

This is the toughest leg of the trip. In the south the heat (and insects see below) are brutal. You should be so proud of the members. The cooks go out there and watch the run through every day and Dale tells me it is tough to be in the sun just for the 15 minutes they are out there. If this doesn’t show the utmost dedication from the Colts I am not sure what does.

Okay, Colts have a performance tonight and then it is off to rehearsal in Atlanta then a really big show on Sat. GO RED TEAM!!! I was at the Ocean Springs show and I can tell you the crowd absolutely LOVED THE COLTS!!!

Blog Note - Sorry we missed a couple daily posts but sometimes it happens I can tell you having been on the truck as many of you have that there are just not enough hours in the day and sometimes feeding and caring for the members takes priority so apologies and when that happens I will try to fill in the spaces with something like the awesome pictures being sent in from the field like below.

Keep the coming!!!

Pictures From the field

Haven’t had a Cook Truck call in a couple days (it has been very hectic) so I wanted to post some excellent pictures I have gotten from them over the last few days. We were actually able to attend the Ocean Springs show and WOW what great southern hospitality was bestowed upon all the corps. I guess that doesn’t make up for the brutal weather but it is something. The show was fantastic. Getting better every day.

I’ll get a full report out later. Today they are @ Pace High School in Milton FL. That is pretty close to Pensacola.

Colts 2010 Day 56

We are in Lumberton TX.  Weather is Hot and Steamy Just like the Cooks like it!!!Sun

Today is a rehearsal day.

Tomorrow – Ocean Springs, MS

Show was great last night. The guard showed off their beautiful new uniforms. Carla made the uniforms in 24 hours!!! The housing site is new so we wanted to point out the address:

Lumberton TX 77657

Wal Mart is across the street!!!!

The last housing site was in Natalia TX and the Cooks were fond of the crickets and fire ants. So much so that there was a plan hatched to prepare fried crickets and chocolate covered fire ants but the idea was summarily dismissed by to Corps.

The 3rd meal is going to be prepared By Mike, Ray, Eric and Alex so that should be well received!
