HELLO EVERYONE FROM MAQUOKETA, IOWA

"Since there is only one Maquoketa in the entire world, over the years, that unique name has helped shape Maquoketans' view of themselves. They have come to recognize, and value, their city as a one-of-a-kind place.
Being unique is certainly special to us, but, we realize, it carries an obligation, one taken very seriously. How? By treating our visitors with genuine friendliness and old-fashioned service. Smiles and warm handshakes have never gone out of style here." quote from the Maquoketa website.

WORD FROM CAMP:

Words can't express how well things are going. Kids are having a blast and getting things done! The wind was pretty crazy yesterday, so it helped with the heat factor during the day, but it was an absolutely beautiful night last night....outside of the wind!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY TO:

GUARD MEMBER PRECIOUS DELAROSA! The corps celebrated with her last night with birthday cake.

Funny story?!? I say yes! When purchasing bananas for the corps yesterday, the manager had been told that they were for the COLTS. He responded, "COLTS? As in the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps from Dubuque?" Come to find out, he is a huge DCI fan! He then requested the drumline come play in his parking lot, of course that really wouldn't work out, but he did say he would bring his kids up to come watch. DCI FANS UNITE! :)
