And yet another

photo

This one from Chris "Choose one from my myriad nicknames" Tanner.

Here's his comment: Just thought I would add to the bundle of Colts in different uniforms, and here we have another one of a Colt on a different instrument. This was taken at the first University of Wisconsin game, the only one performed in.....prior to my "release" from the marching band.

I'll leave it to Chris to elaborate on his "release" on his own in other forums.....

Two more

A group encounter in the Big Ten from Deanna. (Deanna, of course I remember you. You guys must know by now that I remember you all. Say hi to your mom and tell her she can come by and clean the cooktruck any time she wants....)

Deanna's comment: Anyway I noticed that you were putting up off season pics, and I have
this one of me, Joe and Kat at the IU-IOWA game!

This one from Adam B., wearing his 'uniform' of a different type....

Adam's comment: This picture was taken in October and I’m still showing off the tanlines!

Alex - Naperville Central Marching Redhawks

Here's another photo in support of the theme of our Colts marching in the "off season". Kind of like our version of "where are they now".

This is a shot of Alex leaving the field after a competition in early October.

Scott & Mom - Naperville Central Marching Redhawks

Another add to David's theme of Colts marching in the "off season"; here's one of Scott and his Mom at Senior Night just a few weeks ago. This was taken just before our last home game of the season.

More Colts in different unis

This one is from Ashleigh at the University of Texas. (Say hi to your mom for me.) It shows Ashleigh and Jamie and one of their Longhorn friends in their UT uniforms.

Additional from the offseason (edited)

This one was submitted by Sue Howard, who said in her email:

Here's Mike Howard, Contra 05, on his beloved snare, at BOA Pontiac, with
the Bellevue West TBird Band.  He's on the far right.

Offseason encounters

Wanna play name those Colts?

These are from marching band shows/contests. I know there were a lot of people at Valleyfest that I missed. For example, I never did get a picture of Missy, even though I saw her at ValleyFest and again at state contest at Waukee. Then I saw her mom (Kayleen) at Mid-Iowa championships at Ankeny. If you see me, be sure to come by and say hi. Anybody else got offseason photos they'd like to share? Email them to me at speer.david@gmail.com.

So, there's a story with the Greg picture. Aaron's (Pilates') high school band is competing at the Ankeny show. The tubas have this big horn pop move at one point. Well, Aaron moves into his spot and tilts back with his horn and there's Greg Orwoll standing right in front of him. Aaron's comment: "Where the heck did he come from?"

OK, quiz time

The last 3 pictures have a "theme" in common. Anybody care to guess how these 3 are linked in my head?

I thought I was done....

Well, I was kinda bored with the selection of photos I had left from finals week and I seemed to be running a little short on ones to post -- that is until last night when I found four folders worth stashed on my computer that I hadn't even looked at yet. So, I have enough now to last until at least through banquet. Here we go....

Thanks to Rod for posting yesterday. It's ValleyFest (the all-day band competion our high school hosts -- anybody coming this year?) week and I'm pretty busy with my OTHER website this week (www.valleybands.org). Oh yeah, and a couple of new, exciting, cool developments at work. And assisting the head band mommy in charge of Marchmaster uniforms (Jody). And.....
