Today is Monday, Jan. 19; we are in Washington D.C.

Wow! So much is happening, I can't even begin, let alone keep up.
It was a great trip, through rain and snow and dark of night. The housing is marvelous. We should all send letters of thanks to our hosts at Gallaudet University for the great way we're being treated.
This afternoon's outside vis block was cold but incredible. There was a British TV crew that stopped by to talk to the kids from Iowa. The corps did a mock parade route on the football field with staff serving as the turns in the Pennsylvania Ave. parade route. You had to be there to get the full effect. The description does not do it justice. There was a full ensemble of the parade music tonight in full uniform. Too much to go into now.
It's going to be an early morning for the corps as they set off for a full day, starting with multiple security checks and then the parade and then back to the housing site for a dinner hosted by the university cafeteria and then off for home. All on Tuesday.
Don't know when there'll be another chance to update. Thanks to the valiant virtual cooktruck crew who had to stay home for their blog updates from news outlets and publishing of comments, etc.
Today's birthday: cook Vicki Dunkel
Tomorrow's birthday: Beau Meyer, who since his birthday was not during tour never got his birthday posted on the cooktruck. Something we're proud to remedy now. Go get 'em tomorrow Beau -- and the rest of the Colts.
