Signup time

Contracts are out. It's almost April. (Drill camp in 2 days.) It's time to start finalizing summer volunteer plans for tour.

A big THANK YOU goes out to everyone who has contacted Bill (colts.cooks@comcast.net) since I last whined at you about signing up. But there are still holes in the summer volunteer schedule big enough for Bob to drive the cooktruck through. We need YOU! and we need you NOW!

The wonderful thing called the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps doesn't happen by accident. You make it happen by volunteering your time and talents and actually going out on tour with corps this summer. Without you, meals don't get cooked as well or don't get cooked on time. Your Colt doesn't get through line in the allotted 45 minutes, so rehearsal starts late. Vans don't get driven, so staff has to fill in, which means they need more downtime and that's less time with your Colt.

So volunteering is really a selfish act. You're doing this for YOUR Colt.

Show up Friday ready to cook and serve seven meals out of a gym concession stand. And get your name on the summer roster.

Be selfish.
