David, your memory was right about the veggies for Sunday's lunch. I agree - saw (didn't touch - icky mixed veggies) carrots and peas.

Thanks for all the help from all of the parents that attended camp. Here is a a list of projects: ramp built, doorbell wired, and more was completed at the Center; Jeanne and John had a great crew of people helping with the sewing of souvie flags; a 5,000 piece mailing was assembled and stuffed; lots of help breaking down all of the cardboard boxes that contained our new Yamaha instruments; many veteran and new parents assisted in the kitchen and they all did a great jog - lots of compliments from the kids; thanks to Charlotte for being the head cook for the weekend.

We are an all YAMAHA corps - brass and percussion. The sops, mellos and baris were all waiting for the kids when they arrived on Friday. Almost all of the percussion equipement was also waiting for the drummers. The contras will arrive after the first of the year. A Yamaha contact arrived (from Southern California) Friday night and left on Sunday evening. He was there to handle all questions, issues and support the Corps. He originally was from the midwest, and the balmy temperatures on the weekend reminded him why he now lived in So Cal.

The brass line received 3 of the 5 pieces of music this weekend. Chris Tomsa surprised us with one more piece than we were expecting.

The dog and pony went well on Sunday. The guard did a wonderful job on a moving piece that showcased some dancing with flags, rifles and sabres. The frontline did a small part from the show, in addition to some of their scales. The battery (multiple groups) demonstrated some of their skill development exercices. The brass performed two of the three pieces from the show. To paraphrase what was said multiple times by Greg and various staff - we are a drum corps and we will be play loud. The YAMAHA instruments are definitely contributing to that.

Some great new souvies (hoodies, shirts, etc.) were available after the dog and pony.

Only 3 1/2 weeks until next camp. I can't wait!!
