Today's News
Thanks a bunch to Jack W and his wonderful crew(s) for a great week on the east coast. You set them up well for the run back to the Midwest.

Thanks to Diane H for taking over as self-described "first-time, rookie head cook."

Thanks to everyone who has donated fruit and other fresh produce to keep the corps well supplied.

Thanks to the rain in New Jersey for stopping so the new crew didn't have to serve every meal in the rain today. And thanks to the school for having a sheltered area for brass rehearsal and serving when it was raining.

Diane H said "Alex's family" stopped by to help and that Tom H had been on the truck helping too. Thanks, guys. She also said, "It's good. We're doing great."

As always, check colts.org for the latest official word on tour news, housing sites, mail drops, or other corps information.

Arrived home today from 8 wonderful days on the cooktruck! Had a wonderful time making new friends, renewing old friendships and most of all, spending quality time with and for the Colts.

If you have not already made plans to go to finals in Indy, I strongly encourage you to do so. The members have worked so hard all summer, and this next week is the culmination of all of their hard work and effort. The show has evolved to an absolutely wonderful performance!! As an alumni parent, I can share with you from experience how important it is to your son or daughter for you to be there for the grand finale - this is what they have worked so hard to achieve.

If you cannot make it to Indy in person, please send cards, letters, and care packages to let your special member know that you care... It is the next best thing to being there!!

This is a very special group of kids - I am so proud of each and every corps member who have all sacrificed so much to be a part of the 2009 Colts. It is very humbling to see how much each and every member has pushed themselves individually and collectively to achieve this thing called the 2009 Colts. It is also amazing to watch behind the scenes as the staff, interns and touring administrative team work together make this drum corps what it is.

For those parents who have children returning to the 2010 Colts, please take your member to the camps and volunteer your time and talents, even if you don't think you have any special skills, just go!! Somewhere along the way you will discover that you do have something special that you can offer the corps! (Thanks Jim H!!) Who knows... you may even discover your new "BFF" working at a camp! The absolute best part is that by volunteering your time and talent, you also become part of this thing called the Colts!!

GO RED TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
