Today's News

The staff was meeting while the kids were eating breakfast. Lauren was re-painting guard shoes. (Doesn't she have the most glamorous job? thanks, Lauren.) Four cooks this week are Colts alums--Jim,Olaf, Beau, and Pip. Wow! The corps dog, Alamo, who now lives in Chicago with Jenny A's family, has gotten all her puppy shots and medicine for tapeworms. The vet says she is 4 months old. If you feel like showing up with something in hand at finals to give to the corps, napkins and paper towels will be needed by then. A big thank you to parents for the Gatorade campaign. Thanks, Sue.
As always, check colts.org for the latest official word on tour news, housing sites, mail drops, or other corps information.

CUTE Puppy Story...

It was a hot Saturday night in San Antonio, well they all were hot...but back to the story... this was the night after our afternoon competition at the Alamo Dome.

The colorguard was out practicing and a cute, little, scawny, lost puppy with no tags sat and watched them intently. Jenny A., one of the biggest dog lovers I have ever met, immediately fell in love with the pup. Along with many other staff and guard members.

Jenny, as many of you know, is a very persausive young lady and somehow she talked her parents into keeping him...... But..she(the dog) was in San Antonio and her parents live in Chicago. So to make this happen, she had to get to Indianapolis to be picked up by Jenny's parents.

So...for a short week...the corps had very much loved dog named Alamo. She had the best collar, treats, toys you could imagine. And she loved Jenny's lime green blanket and pillow.

I am so glad that she now has a new home where people will take care of her and love her. This just goes to show that the Colts are that kind of caring community.
What fun it was to watch staff, bus drivers, cooks and corp members watch over the puppy. I'm sure it was a group effort to care 24/7 for a homeless little puppy.

I love happy endings...and this one is one of the happiest.....
