What a week....great volunteers, great kids, great staff, great parents....what else can I say!!!
As you can see from today's posting...yesterday was an adventure...but, everyone pulled it together and the kids barely knew what had happened.
My husband, son and fiance picked me up around 2 PM and we got to go see their new house in Ankeny just 2 miles away from the housing site..how funny was that...then a 4 hour drive home(of which I slept 3, me tired...not....)
Last week the cook crew of Jody G., Carole B, Lori C, Donna M, Tom C and Scott P. were treated to so many surprises! The graciousness of Naperville parents, meeting an actual composer, Norwell Band Boosters...the list goes on.
We had a blast last week in spite of rain (yes, it did rain one day...we complained...what was wrong with us?) and the wind and heat. Each day was an adventure into the world of drum corps. We watched football camps kids in Lake Park (no...we don't sell water from the cooktruck - but, what a thought to make a little extra money), met a famous composer (what a nice man...he spent alot of time with us cooks in the truck..and answered all our stupid questions), being in Indianapolis (we were the hit of the parking lot with 80 pizza's)...I could go on and on...but, have to get back to work...
So...thank you cook crew from the bottom of my heart. You guys made the week an easy one and a really fun one to boot.
Colts family...your kids are in good hands with the next crew coming up....I can't wait to get back on in Allentown and see what great things are ahead for the Colts...until then....
A BIG Thank You to Jody Glow for doing a bang-up job leading the cook crew for the second time this year!!!!! Carole,Donna,Tom and Scott you are all great and helped make it a week to remember... Loren R. and Sue P. you both are amazing. I hope people realize how much time you put into making the Colts look fantastic... COLTS are so lucky to have so many great people looking out for them.
