Hello from Denver...
Spent time with the corps in Loveland yesterday. They are just on the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park so, when they have a moment, they can look to the west and see Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain range. But, as this is finals, not that may not happen until Saturday.
The weather was hot yesterday, but no rain. Tom and I went up to Estes Park and into the National Park in the afternoon. It was 50 degrees at the top of the mountain. We wished we could have brought some of that down for the corps.
Kathleen once again washed all the uniforms and they are fresh for quarter-finals. That woman works her head off to keep this corps looking great.
Last night we got to watch ensemble and see all the cleaning they had done during the day. The show is stupendous! They are really excited for quarter-finals. Today is I and E. The pit, Von (tuba) and the cymbals are going into Denver to perform. No easy feat as the equipment truck has to come with and it is at least 1 to 1-1/2 hours to Denver from Loveland with all the construction. The pit was told they have to haul equipment into the Adam's Mark, using 2 different sets of elevators. This should be fun with 6 or 7 boards, the tymps, the rack and many assorted gongs, toys, etc.
So, gotta go. Everything seems to be going well, still got some colds and stuff going aroung, but for the most part they are getting a solid 8 hours of sleep for the next couple of days and on a non-moving floor.
