Winterize or Keep On Truckin'?

I was thinking that it was about time to winterize the old virtual cooktruck. Drain the drink tubs and give them a good bleaching. Find that pan of leftover dressing that Olaf put way up high in the refrigerator. Put anti-freeze in the hot water tank so the whole thing doesn't go solid in the frigid Iowa winter. Pretty much just let things wind down after an excellent summer and over-the-top season for the Colts.

Then I thought: NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

I looked at the stats for hits on the blog. And then saw that we'd gotten 4 comments on the last posting. I know lots more people are looking than are commenting. I got an e-mail from Olaf that I still have to answer. So I decided that -- unlike the real cooktruck that deserves a long winter break -- the virtual cooktruck is still open for business.

I don't know what I'll do besides stand at the sink and do the dishes. Link to other corps sites, maybe. (The San Francisco Renegades have a great site. I hear the guy who does it works for Apple....) Post fun pictures. (Nothing incriminating) Or just keep the doors open so people can come in out of the rain (Dubuque, Allentown, Kokomo, etc., etc., etc.). Or snow.

There's virtual gas in the virtual generator. Virtual Bob's got the virtual propane in the virtual tanks. The virtual cereal is past its virtual sell-by date. Virtual Jim's been to the virtual Aldy's and argued with the virtual store manager. So we're good to go.

Get ready to sort the red M&Ms from the green. December camp is only 116 days away.

GO RED TEAM

What did I do first thing this Monday morning? Look at the Cooktruck for some friendly words of wisdom...and I found some!!!!

Yeh....I'm with you...the dishes can remain in the sink to be washed slowly and carefully all winter. I for one don't want to hurry and have to close up the truck for another competition or night on the road! We're going to stay right here in blog land for the winter!

Hope all cooktruck readers are having a great end of the summer....in Minnesota it can't decide if it wants to be fall/summer/fall/winter/summer/fall. We have run the gamut of seasons in the last week. Even the trees are confused by it all!

Still have to get a copy of the Ankeny show that was on PBS....the son in Ames (the electronics wizard who was at IA State Drumline practice) thought he had taped it, but the VCR's timer (after the summer off in the apartment) was wrong....needless to say, we were all a bit upset. BUT....one more chance for sure for taping and he was also e-mailing the former COLT producer who did such a great job. Such a backup plan.

Mr. Cooktruck....bring on those pictures....we will be anticipating the arrival of your photographic memories on one of the websites.

Got to go to work...will look forward to comments and to hear what others are up to. Have a fantastic day!

Signed....

Mr.Cooktruck,
So glad to hear the truck is staying busy for the winter....

I'm not sure who has the harder time letting the summer go. The Kids or the fans/family. My family is also counting down to the next camp. Are we crazy or what?

You know you found something great when every week you hear "remember that day, show, person, rain or even lunch?". This makes LIFE good.
