RE: Fruit

Somebody asked about fruit, what kinds and how much to bring. Here's the response from Head Cook Barry.

Any fruit in any quantity is welcome at any time, of course. It is good for the corps and can be served fresh or made into salads, desserts, etc. If you wish to bring fruit, the best thing to do is bring a goodly amount of one kind.

Barry's guidelines for amounts:

Apples, bananas, peaches, or plums: by the case
Grapes or strawberries: by the flat
Watermelon: 4 to 5 large watermelons (ones with seeds). Seedless melons or smaller seeded ones -- bring 8 to 9.
Canteloupe: 15 to 20

Feel free to bring other things too. We listed a few this morning. And here's the list published in the itinerary that was sent to parents:
Gasoline gift cards
National Brand fuel gift certificates
Kid flavor cereals
Peanut butter and jelly
#10 cans of practically anything
Did we mention fuel cards (I'm getting the idea fuel is expensive this year....)

Thanks!
