Today's News

Happy 17th birthday Rachel Dement!

The postcards arrived yesterday. Greg brought them in a nice new trailer that's used to haul them. They're huge and they look awesome. The stands for them are being assembled today and the staff hopes to use the Vis time today to integrate them into the show and have them on the field Friday night at Illinois State as planned.

Greg drove Twit last night. Apparently the kids were pumped about that.

The weather was cooler for last night's show and that helped everybody's attitude because the kids Rod talked to all said they had a good show.

About 5:30 this morning, the Colts' traveling road show hit a massive storm in Illinois with lots of hard rain. They pulled off to refuel and take a break from the storm and just then a power outage hit the gas station. The power came back on and they got going again with little delay, though.

Rod says: "Polly wanted me to tell you she fell out of the bunk last night, but she's OK." Glad to hear it. The OK part, not the falling out of the bunk part.....

Somebody asked about the map we had last year that parroted the "WAS, ARE, WILL BE" map from the side of the real cooktruck. Well, that was the most labor-intensive part of the VCT last year because each one had to be done by hand in a page layout program and then saved as a jpg. And I had to keep changing them because housing sites changed, or I didn't have a housing site until the last minute, so I was scrambling to get one done. Anyway, Google maps are more interactive and actually can be useful for finding he housing site. Mostly it was I ran out of time to do them. -- david

As always, check colts.org for the latest official word on tour news, housing sites, mail drops, or other corps information.

Sorry, they didn't give me birthdays today. Which Rachel? I'll update the entry if you'll let me know.

You mean I missed the postcards by one day?! Talk about timing! I was in the souvie truck talking to Mary and Harrison last night and saw the little postcards, and some guy was there trying to buy them. I'd buy a set or three if there were such a thing....

Does anyone know how to get in touch with Damien? He left tour Wednesday morning to help out his cousin (I don't know what's appropriate or what you want posted on your site, but he's a hero in my book!) and I'd like to stay in touch these next few weeks, if possible.
