Today's News

Yesterday we received donations of oranges, grapes, and bananas. Thanks so much to those who brought them!

All is going well; the skies are clear and there is no threat of rain. The corps is moving to Harlem Middle Shcool in Rockford this afternoon, where they will be able to use a stadium tonight. Meal 3 will be served there, and they will return to S. Beloit for Meal 4.

As always, check colts.org for the latest official word on tour news, housing sites, mail drops, or other corps information.

Meanwhile... Since we couldn't be at the dress rehearsal of our very own Red Team, Barry, Katrina P., Deanna M., Liz T., Jake H., I, and a quite healthy crowd of other community members went to Carolina Crown's dress rehearsal in Bloomington. I realize it's the first time in 20 years I've seen any other corps besides Colts perform "pre-season." It's nice to hear drum corps - let the season begin!

In other Bloomington news, Indiana University very quickly ripped the turf our of Memorial Stadium this week. This is the first step to repair the $410,000 in flood damage to the stadium. They will change the base from gravel to sand and install a slightly different kind of turf. It's supposed to be done by the beginning of August, so please keep your fingers crossed and pray for no more severe weather this summer. (Not only for the sake of construction, but also for all those in the Midwest who have suffered devastating destruction and crop loss.)
